The day began in Himeji, where the grandeur of Himeji Castle rose into view, its white walls gleaming against the morning sky. The peaceful paths of Koko-en Garden were explored next, where koi glided silently beneath arched bridges and the air smelled faintly of pine. Skewers of Kobe beef were grilled to perfection and quickly devoured at a cozy food stall, while the rich, smoky eel at Takeda no Anagomeshi offered a taste of local tradition. In Kurashiki, the historic canal district was wandered slowly, its merchant houses and willow trees casting long reflections on the water. A quiet moment was spent at Achi Shrine, followed by a stroll through the blooming serenity of Achi Wisteria Garden. By evening, the calm of The Royal Park Hotel Hiroshima Riverside wrapped around the day like a soft blanket. The next morning, a ferry was boarded at Miyajimaguchi, and the sea air carried us toward Miyajima Island. The Miyajima Ropeway rose steadily, lifting us above thick forests to the breathtaking vistas at Shishiiwa Observatory. Temple bells at Daishoin rang softly through the trees. The journey ended with a sizzling plate of okonomiyaki at Kinchaiya, where laughter and the scent of cabbage and sauce filled the warm little restaurant.
